I agree that the unobtrusive signatures mechanism isn't limited to OpenPGP.
Quote from the current draft:
"The goal of this mechanism is to help email clients commit to signing
every outbound message, which reduces complexity for the user of the
mail client. The mechanism is capable of working with any signature
mechanism, as well as transporting multiple signatures over a single
message. It is specified initially for [OpenPGP], but can be easily
extended to be used with [CMS] or other signature formats."
However, I'd prefer that unobtrusive signatures are transported as part
of the message body, and that the mechanism is kept separate from DKIM*,
see also what I wrote in the other message today.
