i never did understand the need for this "-o h" option. all the
soundcards i have seen have only a single output connector. my present
card, for example, has three connectors: output, input (for recording)
and line-in (which i use for input from the tv card). when i need to use
a headphone, i have to pull off the speaker jack and insert the
headphone jack in its place. so how is "-o s" different from "-o h"?
but maybe costlier cards have several outputs. are you talking about one
of those?
