Try to install USB-modeprobe and usb-modeprobe-data, and reboot your system.

My device is Teracom lw272 OS: Ubuntu 10.10 I have BSNL 3G Icon displayed on my desktop and have setup mobile broadband connection on the network manager. Have also installed wvdial and usb-modeswitch. System is updated. Can anyone lend a helping hand?
