A few years back, the following 'dialogue' (recount of conversations heard on the street) appeared in the Tamil magazine, 'Junior Vikatan':
person 1: 'Ayya, ungalukku tholaipesi azhaippu vandhirukiradhu' person 2: 'Appadina?' person 1: 'Phone vandhirukkunnu sonnen' person 2: 'Appadi Tamilla sonnathaana puriyum' Tamil is what people on the street speak. Not what scholars decree. I think the focus of this discussion is to translate english words to tamil so the ordinary folks find computers easy to use.
