But in the end it all boils down to whether SANE supports it or not. According to the SANE page http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#UMAX IT does not list UMAX Astra 2500. Maybe and this is a huge maybe somebody has managed to do it but it has still not been integrated with SANE UMAX module. If that is the case you will be lucky to find it.
