[...] Thanks for bringing this up, Amit. To answer your immediate questions, http://www.linux-delhi.org has quite a bit of relevant information. The following links might be of help: o About us: <http://www.linux-delhi.org/cgi-bin/tag.cgi?action=showTag&tag=aboutUs> o Memorandum of association: <http://www.linux-delhi.org/cgi-bin/tag.cgi/action=showTag&tag=mod6_tag1&modId=6> Briefly, the elections are to the board of the Indian Linux Users' Group, Delhi (ILUG-D), and are for a period of one year. The office bearers act as the governing body for ILUG-D, taking decisions on the activities that the LUG is involved in, and the direction that it takes, of course with input from LUG members. The elections were announced on this list six weeks ago, with several reminders, so I am not sure what you mean by "where are they held". As for meeting the office bearers, please see the discussion below. I would actually like to initiate a discussion on the future of ILUG-D as interest in the LUG has been steadily waning, both in terms of participating in the LUG's activities, and in attendance at meetings. Typical meetings attract less than ten people, which is quite disappointing for the presenter, and for the people organising the meeting. There were nine people present at the election meeting! Given this, the current consensus within the governing body is to pare down the activities of the LUG to the bare minimum that can be supported by the available volunteers, and that is consistent with its goal to promote FOSS. This means not having regular monthly meetings, except say when we have a visitor from outside Delhi. The main focus of the LUG's activity seems to have become workshops in local colleges, and Freed.in. Of course, all of this is subject to change, and I would love to see proposals for making the LUG gain some of the vibrancy that this list has, for example. On the other hand, it is possible that the heyday of a monolithic LUG has passed, in which case it makes sense to cut activities down to basics. Please do post your inputs on this, and we will see how to take things forward.
