I have, in the past, used blueman with network-manager, to connect Nokia 5800 to my debian laptop. Bluetooth setup on my laptop is currently broken and I have not had the time to look into it. But I remember I had googled around and after some struggle managed to make it work. In sum, blueman+network-manager is an option to consider.
