I disconnected it, but it still seems to make the sound.  I did a little
more surgery, and found a little plug with grey wires coming out of it, that
looked like it connected to the monitor boards.  I disconnected that, and it
seems to work.  No I have to connect an external monitor to it.  Just want
to put it back together a bit first...

does anyone know whether that is the correct connection to unplug?  I little
12 wire connection on the bottom of the power board toward the screen.
