Thanks for all the responses to my question. It seems installing Jaguar might be the simplest? approach. Is there a good site that gives a good overview of the issues involved and the best approach to installing Jaguar? My iMac 400 is a little dated and I've had questions about performance. I do have 576 MB of memory installed so I think I would be ok there. I only have a 10Gb hard drive that is in need of being backed up (the inspiration for my original question about burning CDs). If I upgraded to Jaguar would I be able to establish a simple ethernet connection with a crossover cable between the iMac and the Dell laptop?
