You may be the legal owner, but what you are trying to do is NOT legal. Apple's license clearly states that each CD-ROM is licensed for ONE machine *only.* The iMac CDs are further designed to only be installed on machines that can accept them (ie iMacs), though I'm told they can work on iBooks as well. If you want to install 9.x on your 5400, you'll need to buy a copy of the "retail" version. This can be had quite inexpensively these days, check out places like MacResQ.com, megamacs.com and that sort of dealer (I refer to them as "B-list web retailers" since they are small operations, but that doesn't mean they don't offer great prices or service). You can also check ebay, but beware of CD-R ripoffs or people selling discs that do not work "universally" as the retail version does. _Chas_ Come to ...
