I see what you mean -- Eudora offers that option when a message is intended to be formatted as rich text. You're right, I guess that would be a bit easier. As with any declaration, there are exceptions. By and large, however, most people appreciate email sent as plain text -- it's univerally compatible, much more bandwidth-friendly, less risk of viruses/security problems coming along for the ride, and much more likely to actually get where it's going. OTOH, there are instances where you'd want to have a bit of HTML or rich text in an email message, I suppose. Just don't overdo it and you should be fine (HTML in an email is almost always SPAM it seems to me, so I just junk any HTML mail that comes in sight unseen). > When I first got a mac (Pismo running OS > 9), Outlook had the style options individually built into the menu.
