Donald, what iMac do you have? I have a Rev. B Bondi model and it has ONE USB bus with two USB ports: the Primary/Master port, which is the top port on my iMac, and the Secondary port (bottom port). Now the keyboard will work if plugged into either of these but the ports on the keyboard use the same power that the two iMac ports. What I discovered was that many peripherals would work if plugged directly into the top/primary USB port on the iMac, but if plugged into either the bottom/secondary port or a keyboard port, they would not work. I surmised that there wasn't sufficient power in those ports. I have my 7-port ,powered hub plugged into a keyboard port and have my Palm cradle, printer switch, scanner, zip drive, and 240 MB SuperDisk floppy drive connected to the hub. Now my G4 iMac supposedly has TWO USB buses and FIVE ports on it. I have not yet determined which are the two primary ports, which are the two secondary ports and which one is the tertiary port. One of these days I'll run Apple Profiller and see what it reports. Sincerely, Dennis -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
