The keyboard is a powered USB point (on both ends) and seems to work 
fine to connect units that need small amounts of power, such as a 
digital camera, a handheld PDA, a card reader, a gamepad/joystick, etc.

I'm not sure I would use it to run a scanner or printer or unpowered 
hub. That to me would be asking for trouble. YMMV.
