Dennis, I'm simply flabbergasted! I'm confused. Is your keyboard only so 
powerful as a conduit because it's plugged into the master  (top) USB 
port? I tried plugging in the floppy via directly into the UsB port, but 
not the top one. I assumed I would have a plug and play experience and 
bought it because Apple was featuring it. My keyboard couldn't power it. 
No one on the list suggested that I might try the master port.
I don't know what an iMate is. You've got a jolly good set up. A FP iMac?
