It should be noted that you're not talking about ANY current or recent iMac. All G3 iMacs since 2000 have a easy-open bottom panel that opens with a coin. It takes longer to shut down the machine and roll it over than it does to install memory. The G4 iMacs do admittedly take a bit longer -- about two minutes. Roll them over, loosen the four screws (they don't come out so you can't lose them -- nice touch!!), remove the plate, insert memory, restore plate and screws, roll it back over. Now if you'd been talking about replacing the internal drives on an iMac, you'd have no argument from me. But RAM? It's really nothing -- in fact it's so nothing that Apple even allows you to do it yourself while the machine is still under warranty! _Chas_ Come to ...
