apple ships all of the computers with OS 9 and OS X on the same 
partition. you just go to start-up-disk, select the other OS, and 
reboot. in OS X, this is in System Preferences. In OS 9, it's a control 
panel. the classic environment is completely different.

the only way to go from one OS to the other is rebooting...
