IMO these discussions are so irrelevant. It's what you do with the computer that matters, which is why I choose the Mac OS, not the PowerPC platform.

Amen. There is *something* about benchmarks that is overpoweringly attractive to people, though. The guy that runs my hardware store is always talking about squeezing the last few cycles out of his home machine by overclocking, pouring liquid nitrogen on it, irradiating with homemade linear accelerator, etc. Geeze. It's like talking about which hammer goes further when you throw it.

And it's a lot cheaper and safer than putting a
supercharged small-block Chevy in your Volkswagen.
