Eh, no! What I meant was that I chose the Mac OS for the OS, not the PPC platform for some hyped CPU performance adverts.

It's what I can do with the *OS* that is important, not the speed
of the fastest CPU *today*, because tomorrow there will always be

I use an MDD 2x 1GHz with 1.25GB RAM and it purrs just nicely.
I couldn't give a crap if Joe Bloggs' 4GHz Pentium 4 (or whatever)
is faster than mine...


Sorry for misunderstanding what you meat. Just remember that the Pentiums NEED a faster speed because they are more inefficient than the PowerPC chips overall. Again, I've heard that for a Intel/AMD chip to be as efficient as an equivalent PowerPC, the clock speed has to be about twice the speed of the PowerPC. If that is no longer true, than Apple should seriously think about using the "other" chip.
