???. There is no "tray" at all. If you mean it ejects the CD only a little bit and then you manually pull it out the rest of the way? That's exactly how it is supposed to work.

If what you are describing is a Rev C, Five flavors iMac? That is a tray loader, and the tray should open fully. The description "blueberry" alone doesn't clarify which exact iMac you are describing.
