Krikey - I only see two windows!  Am I missing
something huge due to misconfiguration?

Doubtful -- you've just run into some of that "configuration" that others claim doesn't exist in the program. :)


In the default view of Mail (which is how I use it), there's three "windows" -- the list of email, the "preview pane" that shows the contents of the currently-selected message, and a drawer that shows a list of the various mailboxes.

Some people hide the mailbox list, or hide the preview pane depending on their tastes. Hiding both makes the program look a lot like Eudora, hiding neither makes it look a little like Entourage. Rather clever, really ...
