Hello all,
I have a DV iMac running OS 9.04. I just purchased the OS 9.1 upgrade
disc but I cannot find ANY information, either on my disc or online,
on
how to actually do the upgrade. I could of course just wipe the HD but
as I have no means of backing up my files I would lose years of work.
I
have not been able to find a CD burner that will work on 9.0: they all
seem to require at least 9.1 so I'm in a nice catch-22 here. All my
stuff was purchased used so i don't have access to Apple's customer
support. Can anyone point me to a tutorial or how-to on upgrading to
9.1?

Mac OS 9.1 through 9.2.2 is available free of charge from Apple's

Can he just insert the disc and follow the prompts to upgrade? (Of
course, it would be best if he could back up first, but...) If
Julianus bought the 9.1 upgrade, he has to work from an existing OS 9,
not from a wiped HD. Is that right?
I think, Julianus, that you can just insert that disk and be upgraded
in a matter of minutes. Make sure someone else on this list confirms
this before you do it! While you are at it, go ahead and download and
upgrade to 9.2.2. I stayed at 9.2.2 until Panther (X.3) came out!
