at least 128MB (better 256MB) then it should work again - i'm pretty sure...

Well, it has 320 Mb of RAM. I took out the 64 Mb one, but the problem persists.
I'm trying the solutions from the Apple website, but it still doesn't
boot past the blue screen.
However, I started from the OS 9 CD, and switched the start up disk
to OS 9. It now starts fine from OS 9.
I think I'll do a CD back up of the things that interest me, and will
do a reformat and new clean install when the 'new' iMac arrives.
(sigh)
