It won't hurt, and it could prevent problems down the road. I think you
should install it ASAP.

I've been down that road with a 350 slot (and was discussed on this list several months ago) and it was a S.O.B to get it fixed because of the lack of the external video port. On the models with (such as the 600), it's just a matter of hooking up an external monitor to be able to see what you're doing.

However, I agree to go ahead and do it. If the firmware has already been updated, the installer will inform you of such so there's no harm downloading and trying it.
