On my .Mac accounts and Adelphia account, I get zero, repeat zero
spam (well maybe an occasional one--but it's rare). I use OS X
10.4's Mail App and have my mail filters set this way: Accept only
email from people in my address book and only email that is addressed
directly to me. Plus, Adelphia has a great spam filter already set
up that catches what Mail might not catch and I really don't know
what type of filters .Mac users but it must be pretty good.
Once again, just a reminder, you don't need anti-virus software on a
Mac running OS X or OS 9. There aren't any viruses out there and the
security of OS X over the Windows OS is much greater. You notice
that you have to enter your password every time you install
anything? Nothing can install itself without that password. I'm not
the expert here, but I know the Mac OS is secure and you don't have
to worry about buying USELESS Anti-virus software. You might want to
spiff up your mail filters a bit though.

I'm seeing that too. New year, new spamming software.
i also am getting tons of emails that use images to display the
advertisement, ad the actual text/subject of the spam is random
text, which is very likely to get thru spam filters. it's getting
quite annoying. my mother, who rarely uses the internet, gets at
least 3 a day, and I, as a frequent user, get at least 20 a day.
