You have admin access? Open /Users Select the broken user's folder. Do a Get Info (cmd-I). Click the Details arrow under Ownership & Permissions. Click the padlock and supply your admin pwd, as prompted. Change the folder's owner to the current user. Click "Apply to enclosed items...".
