ok, so I checked and rechecked the spec for the Imac, and I'm nonplussed, to say the least- they're using a centrino mobile chip. two 486's (and yes I did the research) as core processors, and a SHARED 2 meg cache does not a high profile desktop, with the price point to match, make. Sorry gang, it's a P.O.S. So I'll just uppgrade my old trusty g3 400 DVSE with a g4 mobo, and continue on my way. I could, in theory, understand a weak #ssed chip like this in an ibook, non competitive as it is- just now it's more so. For the money, I'll get a Hp or Acer laptop with a real 64bit processor, and be happy. Loved the punch card jabs too- but for writing drivers in open firmware, I had to re-learn Forth? yet another dinosaur language still in use.
