Dennis, You weren't wrong. I was referring to G4 PowerMacs, and more specifically to the model Dave has, the dual 450Mhz aka Gigabit. Graphic cards in iMacs are, alas, non-upgradeable --although I have read that it can be done only in first or second gen Intel iMacs, IIRC.
