You don't need MS SQL server to do this. There are many
alternatives - including using the imail database until you grow over
15,000-20,000 users.

Nope. Not at all. We have a PIII 350 256mb ram - the only
expensive part is the harddrive - makes a big dif.

Little secret here Len. Every month I make back more than the
cost of Imail almost double. Maybe if you were not so narrow
minded or such bad businessman you could as well.
Ignore Len - he really seems to hate webmail (why be on the list?)
and people that can make free services pay for them. You can do
it. You can do it without buying MS SQL server. Don't go
overboard until you grow - unless you have an audience now or a
means to attract them - your site will grow slow. A decent PC a
good harddrive and Imail with Ron's templates are a good start. If
you want more info - contact me off list - if you want a bitter wet
blanket with no vision - please by all means -contact Len off list.

Sorry to be so friggin bitter but I am really, really sick of Len's
replies when people ask these questions. Len - you are ignorant
on how to run such a service - so why do you just not reply when
people ask about it?
