I must not be understanding something, because it sounds like almost exactly
what I use the IIS SMTP server for - to send mail.
Are you saying it works with ASP, but not your perl scripts? I'm just
beginning to look at perl, so I'm not familiar enough with it to know how it
interacts with IIS SMTP. I know all I had to do to get it working with ASP
was change the default SMTP port on IIS, and both it and IMail work on the
same IP address.

True however I need the outgoing service because it is a message
board and it is using SMTP to relay the mail.
However, I did stop the SMTP service in light of what you
said and it still does not work. Therefore I am thinking I may
have problems somewhere else.
