I couldn't have said it better! We have used Imail since 1995 and will
continue to use it under one condition: Items 1,2 and, 3. We are an
international ISP with about 25,000 plus accounts. We use SQL for
authorization both in dial up and Email capacities. We have suffered through
the ODBC problem and are using Mike Nice's excellent workaround since
IpSwitch seems to turn a deaf ear to solving this problem with a simple
re-write of ODBCUSER.DLL
IpSwitch: How hard would it be to re-write ODBCUSER.DLL? In all honesty,
you have to admit that the lack of database server support not only hurts
us, the customer, but you as well. How many customers have simply given up
on Imail because of this? Not everyone subscribes to this forum...
SPAM: It costs us real time and money to "secure" our mail servers from
relay rape and "cc: SPAM" and everything else that gets through SMTP
security, or the lack thereof. We are constantly on the defensive side of
this. Its "crisis management" in it most real, and damaging form.
Personally, I like Imail, our engineering staff likes Imail, our customers
like Imail but, if its bad for business, it goes, like it or not. I would
really hate to see it go....
IpSwitch, your customers are voicing their opinion here, do more than just
hit the "delete" key...
