[IMail Forum] Parsing webform results through imail smtp

When I attempt to submit a form from a website on our server - where the
server value is set to mail.mydomain.com - the following error message is
returned:
Failure
An error has occured while processing your request.
There has been a problem talking to the mail server. It refused to accept my
"RCPT" statement. It replied 550 unknown user
The smtp security is set to accept mail from any user, auth reporting is
disabled, and if I configure my outlook express e-mail client to use the
same outgoing mail server it works just fine - even if I'm sending from an
account on another domain.
So why is it rejecting smtp request that originate locally - through the
mailto.exe script on the server?
