There appears to be a 'blooper' in the manual I was using - imailnt.pdf -
regarding procedures for backing up the registry. On page 205, appendix b,
Backups, it gives the following instructions:
"You can back up the IMail registry to a file by selecting Backup IMail
Registry from the File menu in IMail User Manager. (You can restore the
IMail registry by using the Restore IMail Registry command.)"
All that is in the File menu in Imail Administrator is Exit. However, in the
General screen under properties for localhost, there is a button on the far
right that says backups. When you click on that it gives a submenu for
backing up or restoring the registry.
If it hasn't already been done, that part of the manual should probably be
amended. Also, considering the disaster that strikes if you have NOT done
manual backups of the registry entries for i-mail, I would suggest that the
Backup procedure should be moved to a more prominent position in the manual,
e.g. Chapter 3 on Configuration or Chapter 4 on User Accounts. Not all
people are given to reading appendixes and most people assume that the 'need
to know' stuff is in the first chapters.
