I've had some offlist help from Dave Wilson and Chris Terrebone getting
hosts set up as external db hosts. Thanks to both for their assistance. I'm
getting some strange behavior now and rather than continuing to pester Dave
and Chris, I'm hoping someone on the list might have some help on this for
me.

It may be simplest to set out the sequence giving me problems and then hope
someone else has seen this to know what I'm talking about. My configuration
is iMail 6.03; SQL 7.0 Enterprise Edition; Win2000 Advanced Server. Here's
the problem:

1. When I set up the new external db host, the table is properly created
using the DSN. I then add a user (call him "user1" using Imail
Administrator. No problem.

2. Close out iMail Admin and then go back into it. This latest user (user1)
shows up properly; has the right colored hair; and all his attributes are
properly shown on his property page (i.e., "Allow Web Access", "Host
Administrator", etc.).

3. Add a new user called "user2". Close iMail Admin.

4. Go back into iMail Admin. Now user2 is showing up properly with the
correct color hair and all attributes properly checked. But user1 shows up
with his hair color wrong and none of his attributes are checked. I.e., if
he was set up as "Allow Web Access", that box is not checked. None of his
boxes are checked. Despite this, all his flags are properly set in the db
and when I access user1 account via web everything is right.

5. Create new user "user3". Close iMail Admin.

6. Go back into iMail Admin. Now user3 shows up correctly, but both user1
and user2 do not show up properly. User1 and User2 show up with wrong
colored hair and no attributes are checked. User1 and User2 are still
correct in db, but do not show up correctly in iMail Admin.

So the situation seems to be that the last entered user will always show up
correctly in iMail Admin but earlier users all show up with no attributes
shown.

This is not a huge problem since the attributes are in fact correct in the
db, but it is useful to be able to look at attributes via the iMail Admin
interface in many circumstances. The way things are working, I have to go to
the db, get the value of the "FLAGS" entry and figure out the user's
attributes based on the flag entry. That is a little difficult.

Anyone else seen this and know a fix?

Thanks,
Paul Sinclair
