2 months not 2 hours.
I wish that was true. But we probably spent well over 2 months, close to 3
months.
I read every email on this forum that relates to (MS)SQL since January 2000.
(since I also have an Imail 5.x running on its own database for about 2
years with no problems I had already subscribed on this forum long time even
before this incident)
That is why I suggested Imail for this bigger project to my people. Two
years ago when I called for tech support I found a receptive ear at Ipswitch
which has significantly changed since then taking in account the problems
that I have encountered with them in the last 2 months.
In any case we are having performance problems with IMAIL, and we need to
load about 25,000 subscribers on an email server but the subscribers already
have their information on the MS-SQL 7 database that is why I need to have
the external database setup with IMAIL. The problems that we encounter are
that the CPU constantly goes to 100% and only a reboot fixes that problem
for a few minutes. Even with out any user's actively using the mail services
that CPU goes to 100% compared to my Imail 5.x which at worst goes to 10%.
In addition, the pop3 users get timed out very often and for no specific
reason (maybe because the mail server CPU is at 100%)
That is why I was asking if anybody has a sizable base on IMAIL-SQL7 already
working ? I can not believe that to be true from my experience and from
trying the IMAIL suggested DLL and the Nice man's suggested DLLs. I am also
currently looking at both NT Mail and Mercur.
Sincerely,
Mark Anderson

Sorry to hear that. 2 hours isn't a very long fuse. It takes me longer
than that just to wake up.
I just did a search in my non-exhaustive archive of this forum and did not
find digitcom.net.
A lot of people here have had trouble and then success with
Imail-to-SQL. Why not join the crowd?
