I've got relatively few users (average of 3 or 4 per domain maybe) on 50
domains or so with IMAIL 6.? and Sql7. I've got Mercur, too. Mercur has
some good features but I can't imagine it handling more data than IMAIL. My
MERCUR version is probably close to 18 months ago so maybe it has been
improved a lot. It was not a good multiple domain solution for us but like
I say it definitely had features I enjoyed.
I know that doesn't help you with 25,000 users but thought I'd give you my
.02 on Mercur.

>>>>>....In any case we are having performance problems with IMAIL, and we
need to
load about 25,000 subscribers on an email server but the subscribers already
have their information on the MS-SQL 7 database that is why I need to have
the external database setup with IMAIL. The problems that we encounter are
that the CPU constantly goes to 100% and only a reboot fixes that problem
for a few minutes. Even with out any user's actively using the mail services
that CPU goes to 100% compared to my Imail 5.x which at worst goes to 10%.
In addition, the pop3 users get timed out very often and for no specific
reason (maybe because the mail server CPU is at 100%)
That is why I was asking if anybody has a sizable base on IMAIL-SQL7 already
working ? I can not believe that to be true from my experience and from
trying the IMAIL suggested DLL and the Nice man's suggested DLLs. I am also
currently looking at both NT Mail and Mercur.
