Roland,

Are you using the latest web templates from http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/templates.html ?

Subject: [IMail Forum] LDAP

I have submitted this problem to Imail tech support, but I thought that I'd try here too.

Setup:

NT 4.0 SP 6a
Imail 6.01 install, patched to 6.03
Virtual Host with IP (Approx. 150 users)
Imail Database for Users
Mail Client - Quickmail 2.01

Problem:  LDAP entries for new users added to Virtual Host via Web admin are not created correctly.

Description:

If a host or Imail administrator adds a user to the said virtual host (through web admin), only the Lastname will be displayed to the LDAP queries.

Example in Web Admin:

UserID:  any.test
First Name:  Any
Last Name:  Test

Fill in password etc.
Hide from information services is NOT checked.

If this user's info is looked at in the LDAP services it shows as just the Lastname.  In this case it would show "Test".  The correct entry should be "Test, Any".

I have tried Optimising the LDAP database for this host.  It did not solve the problem.

The only way to solve the problem is to Initialise the LDAP database for the host.

If the user's LDAP information is then looked at it will show the correct entry of "Test, Any".

Could you suggest a solution to this problem please, or maybe how to automatically initialise the LDAP database every time a user is added from the Web Admin.

Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

Regards

Roland
