No not yet....Except maybe....having the AOL user find and use AOL's local
mail exchange relay for smtp. But trying to find that info....wait...even
batter...having an AOL user try and find that info...is far from trivial.
I thought that on one occasion, I restarted my smtp service and the AOL user
could connect...but that was only one odd occasion. All other occasions
seem to be AOL issue. Try that just for shits and grins.
My guess is that that what happens is several of AOL's core routers are very
spam proof...they maybe filter their port 25 traffic very carefully. Other
are not filtered. Since AOL uses some very intelligent routing protocols,
sometimes a user is routing through a core router that is spam proof,
sometimes not. It's about 50-50 as far as I can tell.

Dave, I guess you haven't been able to find a remedy?

Yes! I too have had this problem. It is AOL as far as I can tell.

Subject: [IMail Forum] AOL Problems...
I have users across the country that use AOL to get access, then use
Outlook or Express as the e-mail client.
Rarely do they have problems receiving e-mail, but sporadically they have
problems sending messages... the return error message indicates that the
host server rejected the sender.
I want to attribute this problem to AOL, but am finding it difficult to
find supporting arguments.
Has anyone else dealt with this?
Jason
