I am sure many are aware of the trend of isps to prevent their customers
from sending through any smtp servers other than their own.
This means if a customer has hosted their domain elsewhere than their isp,
they can not send mail through their domain's smtp server.
ISPs that are doing this that I am aware of include:
aol
flash net (just started)
gte
earthlink (I've been told they have started doing this)
So far I''ve not run accross this problem with dsl or cable connected
customers.
This is bad news for independent web hosters of course. My customers are
willing to switch isps rather than leave us.
Does anyone know of national isps that DON'T do this ??
Regards
Kim
