Markus,
Some good ideas here! However, there are several of these topics covered in
both the manual and in the KB (and in the program HELP files). Some people
may not be able to find them, as you suggest and Ipswitch has added many new
keywords to the KB articles in the recent past. Some people are just not
going to use these tools because they seem to want humans to answer their
questions. Not much that can be done to help them, except give them answers
here. The KB has reduced, significantly, the amount of these emails that get
to the support people and this forum.
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm sure that some of them will make the KB in
the future. Care to write one or more and submit them for the KB?

Subject: [IMail Forum] official FAQ
Hi,
After reading this list for a few months I see that a large portion
of all questions are always the same. I suggest that IPSwitch should
releases a knowledge article on the following topics:
- How to setup a secure SMTP server
+ Pro and contra for different relay options
+ How spam works (open relay)
- How to setup a mailserver for virtual domains
+ DNS settings
+ Explanation MX
+ Virtual Hosts vs IP-based hosts
+ Limitations of virtual hosts
- How to setup a catch-all account
I think many of the information above mentioned can be found
in the IPSwitch KB, but beginners probably don't know the
keywords to look for.
Maybe the traffic on the IMail lists gets lower by that...
bye
