This would never fly here. Most ISPs here are expected to supply
protection here and in most of the U.S. If I took this position
in this market I would have no business at all. Most email server
packages support RBL antispam and AntiVirus measures are available
from primary antivirus suppliers. Billions in damages have occurred
through email based viruses with the largest distributor of viruses
worldwide being Hotmail. Most marketing surveys are indicating end
users almost exclusively expect their email providers to provide
such protections. If you plan on being an outsource for email,
chances are you better consider such features or consider not
being a popular source for such services.
This is one reason Imail should have considered such features a long
time ago but has never taken these most serious issues most seriously.
Given a choice between SSL security and thousands or millions in
network damages from a very destructive email virus was always an easy
choice here. I, for one, am very happy to see Declude show up on the
scene. We were considering MailEssentials or using another mail server
all together. We will now continue with Imail because of Declude.
