Try this:
DSN;UID=databaseusername;PWD=databasepassword;DB=DBname

Tablename:
domain_com

Subject: [IMail Forum] ODBCUSER.dll problem with SQL 7.0

I'm trying to set up a domain using an external database in SQL 7.0. I've
gone through the Knowledge Base and pulled all the articles on the problems
people have had. Still can't get it working. I've set up the datasource and
configured iMail to use it with syntax as:

imail;UID=paul;PWD=password

As per many notes on this list and on the support site, I also tried this
same syntax but with db name added:

imail;UID=paul;PWD=password;DB=imaildb

I've also downloaded Mike Nice's fixodbc.zip file, which includes his
ODBCUSER.dll file dated 5/22/2000. Installed this in place of the existing
odbcuser.dll file.

Despite all this, I still get an error when trying to create a user in the
domain. The error is something like "Cannot create user. Check external
database settings."

When I create an Access2000 database and set this up as the datasource and
point iMail to it, that works fine. But I will need a SQL database for the
domain in question.

The iMail server (v 6.05) is on NT4.0, SP6a. I've seen references to going
back to the odbcuser.dll file that was in v6.04 of iMail and have tried
that, but that doesn't take care of it either.

Anybody have any other thoughts on what I can look at? Thanks for your help.
