I have to agree with Scott. The motherboard makes a lot of difference. There
are websites that test MB's with the different OS's (www.tomshardware.com
comes to mind first) and this is a good source for this info. I have also
found memory chips to cause a lot of problems.
FYI, we have been using the same Compaq Prolient dual Pentium Pro's for
almost 4 years without any problems for our main production servers... but
we build everything else. Asus, Abit and Tyan MB's have been our favorites.
FIC seems to be inconsistent, but we also have a few of those.
