According to the knowledge base SMTP Auth does not work with virtual hosts
w/o IP addresses that use an external database. We have been setting up an
IP address for each virtual host, but as we grow we see that this is
somewhat of a waste - so for smaller virtual hosts we want to set up without
an IP address but since SMTP Auth does not work with the external database
we want to know how to do this. We use MS SQL 6.5 and it is integrated into
our billing system, radius, control panel, etc.

What do others do? Do you mix databases - external and internal? This
would be a problem since it would render parts of the control panel (where
we allow people to add email addresses) somewhat useless.

This appears to me to be a major flaw with Imail, maybe others with more
knowledge could enlighten me.
