Hi,
I am using Imail v5.5 (now upgraded to 5.09) and we are having a problem
with spammers using our relay to send huge amounts of bulk mail.
SMTP Security was set to Relay mail for anyone, which I changed to Relay
mail for local hosts. Since changing this, we have been able to send mail
out, but have not been able to receive any mail in from any source. People
sending to us get the message, 550 not local host strodes.ac.uk, not a
gateway. I believe that there is a hosts file somewhere which needs to be
updated, but I can't find this under \imail, plus I don't have a clue what
goes into it.
I was advised to change it to Relay mail for local users, which I did, and
still got the 550 error. I have played with the accept.txt file, but I am
not sure of the content/layout of the file. Our mail/DNS server is
212.219.90.242, and the internal network addresses are 192.168.1.0 to 255,
192.168.2.0 to 255 and 192.168.3.0 to 255.
I would be grateful for any help or suggestions on this problem, before it
gets sent back to the resellers.
Thanks,
Paul Lush
