I had a list that I kept getting mail from and it turned out that it was
because I had removed a user without also removing them from the list.  I
was getting the mail through the nobody alias.

You might also try assigning one of the members as administrator of the
list.

I've checked both of these and the only one I had was myself in the Owner
box for the list.  I removed myself but I still receive them, and as for the
enable feature for reply to...it's not checked, so it should reply to the
actual user not the list and I've tested this and it worked for me...go
figure?

Strange.
Couple of things to check:
Reply to list(vs. sender) enabled
If allowed posting by moderator is enabled, you(list owner) will  get a copy
If you have Rules enabled for that list and have your address in the send to
mailbox field
you may get a copy
