"snooping" and "finding" are two separate issues. Most people feel that
businesses shouldn't snoop and search through E-mail (although in most
places they probably have the right to). But anyone who feels that
businesses should never look at E-mail for diagnosing problems doesn't
understand the situation.
If I run your mail server, and a mail loop occurs, I have to look at the
E-mails in the queue to find out where the loop occurs. If someone
misaddresses an E-mail, I may end up seeing it. What if there is a server
crash, and when fixing the hard drive, you discover some lost sectors and
there is an E-mail in there? It could determine why the crash occurred.
