Your Sprint system with the 8500 supports TAP this is direct modem access
into their system using the Telephony Access Protocol (or something similar).
At our University we use it for low level monitoring/reporting when our
router/switches may be down. The Sprint sales and tech support people don't
have a clue about it, but somewhere on the Sprintpcs website is a White paper
on how to setup/use it. It is instantaneous text messaging.
