Just be careful not to use AT&T for time-sensitive messages (such as "your
server is down" messages). I know someone who was using a cell phone using
AT&T service earlier this year, and messages would often go through right
away (within a few minutes). But, about 20% to 30% of the time, a page
that went out at around 8-9AM wouldn't get delivered on the phone until 5-6PM.

Given the lousy cell phone paging ability of AT&T and Voicestream (and
likely others), I wouldn't recommend anyone use a cell phone for time
sensitive pages. I went with Voicestream for a personal cell phone, and am
going to have to break the contract with them because the paging ability is
so bad (for my use, I need the page ASAP; if it takes more than about 15
minutes, it would be better just not to get the page). For monitoring a
server, you really need a real pager.
