This of course requires symmetrical decryption on the other end(s), at the 
server or at the desktop.   If you can't ensure that, then it's better to 
drop it now.

SMTP/TLS can build tunnels for STMP traffic between TLS-compatible 
servers.  This is server-to-server encryption, not desktop-to-desktop.

What exactly, end-to-end, are you trying to do?
