Hello Everyone, We are running IMail V5x on a Win NT 4.0 server outside of our firewall. Recently we added McAfee's commercial virus scanning engine to the same box. I don't think the following problem is specific to IMail but a combined (probably configuration or communication) problem between the two.
Incoming mail is being scanned by McAfee and than transferred to IMail. This seems to be working well, and viruses are being actively stripped by McAfee before the e-mail is transferred to IMail. However, outgoing mail going from IMail to McAfee and than to the destination address is not being scanned. Any idea why? Until we added McAfee, our users could subscribe to a mail list remotely. Now, users can see the list, send a subscribe request, and get a return confirmation e-mail. However, when they respond to the confirmation request, IMail (or McAfee) rejects the list server alias. As a result, users can not be added to an e-mail list other than manually (yuck). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Finally, for those who upgraded to 7.04. Did you experience any upgrade issues that would be helpful to us as we get ready to do the same, did the upgrade cause new, unforseen problems, and were the additional benifits of the upgrade worth the costs. Any and all input is appreciated. Don Vogt Network Administrator Ponca City Schools Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
